All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer Banna Gupta on Tuesday demanded the removal of Gyanesh Kumar from the office of Chief Election Commissioner of India.

Addressing a press conference organised by the Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, as part of the AICC campaigns “Vote Bachao Desh Bachao” and “Go Gyanu Go,” Gupta alleged electoral irregularities and the deletion of voters’ names from electoral rolls.

He also alleged that the country had been slowly moving towards economic slavery since 2014.

Stating that the Congress was not merely a political party, Gupta said, “It is a party of movement and freedom.”

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Working President Khriedi Theunuo and KDCC President Ketseiyie Mere were also present at the press conference.
