Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): A counter-First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged with the police station against one Zasi Zakiesato and others over a land dispute that also turned ugly on March 18 at Burma Camp where a person was injured, and later died in the hospital today.
Vihoto is stated to be a family friend of Sashisangba and interestingly, the FIR disclosed, he was a person who was on Avino’s side, while Zasi Zakiesato is said to be the nephew of Avino. The statement detailed accounts that named Zasi as the one who became belligerent and threatened Avino and her husband. In addition, with a group of 20 persons, Zasi started assaulting his own uncle and aunt, Sashisangba and Avino and persons stated to be Avino’s workers, the FIR disclosed.
The FIR also disclosed that Avino’s other family learned that Zasi had even filed an FIR claiming that it was Sashisangba who had “bitten” him and injured Vihoto with a “Jamphul” (iron road used for digging). “This is totally false and baseless,” the FIR stated.
The FIR statement from Longchar’s wife, Avino Longchar, today expressed sadness that the local media had not interacted with the husband’s family members who were present at the police station. “It would have been wise on the part of the media persons to have approached at least one of my husband’s family members,” Avino stated.
A copy of the counter-FIR received here stated facts and not as was portrayed in the reports. The FIR made clear that the plot of land at United Naga Colony, ward-3, at Burma Camp in Dimapur. On March 18, around 9:00 am she and her husband, Sashisangba and six others went to the plot of land to erect fencing for the boundary. During that time Avino’s nephew, Zasi Zakiesato arrived and demanded from his aunt to stop the work.
“I tried to make him understand and showed him my land documents and thereafter he left,” the FIR stated. However, after about half-an-hour Zasi returned “with Ngucha” and three others and demanded that the work be stopped until Avino’s brother Kevi Zakiesato comes. They refused to see the land documents and started shouting at Avino, the FIR stated. It was stated that one Sako Angami “from their side” has seen the documents of the land produced by Avino. Zasi and his group left after telling his aunt to carry out the work only after Kevi Zakiesato came.
So the work was stopped, Avino stated. However again, while taking lunch Zasi and a friend returned and began taking out the fencing posts and also began shouting at Avino. In the meantime, her husband Sashisangba told Zasi not to behave that way. Zasi then began to threaten Sashisangba in the presence of Avino.
“When I tried to stop him, he pushed me and I fell down. Only then my husband threw his rice plate which hit Zasi behind his neck. Zasi left by saying that he will bring his people to teach us a lesson,” Zasi’s aunt, Avino stated.
Around 4:30 pm, Avino’s nephew again came with “Ngucha” and a group of others number about 20, started assaulting her, and husband Sashisangba.
“I was trying to stop them but Ngucha who carried a firewood started bashing my men and even I was also hit by him. I have seen Ngucha and party bitting (sic) my men and one of my men Vihoto was seriously injured and was lying senseless on the ground,” Avino stated.
Seeing blood oozing from Vihoto’s forehead, Avino and Sashisangba rushed him to Civil Hospital where he was referred to Zion Hospital after first aid.
“While I and my husband was in Zion hospital some police personnel came and took my husband Sashi to the East Police Station,” Avino said. It was mentioned that in fact, Avino’s family learned that Zasi had filed an FIR claiming that it was Sashi who had “bitten” him and injured Vihoto with a “Jamphul.” “This is totally false and baseless,” the FIR stated.
Stating these details, the FIR has requested the Police authorities to investigate the case and book the culprits under relevant provisions of the law.
