Kohima, November 4 (MExN): District administrations in Peren and Phek are facilitating pensioners to submit their Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) through special camps under the nationwide DLC Campaign 5, being conducted during November.
In Peren, Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru convened a meeting on November 4 to discuss arrangements for the campaign, which runs from November 1 to 30. The meeting was attended by officials from the health department and treasury, the District Public Relations Officer, the president of the Peren District Pensioners’ Association and an Aadhaar operator from Jalukie.
As per the DIPR, out of 1,000 pensioners in Peren district, 600 have completed the digitisation process, while 400 are yet to do so.
Accordingly, DC Meru directed the Treasury Officer to prepare a list of the remaining pensioners, detailing the reasons and discrepancies hindering their digitisation, to facilitate necessary assistance.

Special camps will be organised at the offices of the Additional Deputy Commissioner in Jalukie and Peren on all working days during the campaign, from 10 am to 1 pm. Besides facilitating Digital Life Certificate generation, the camps will provide on-the-spot Aadhaar services and free medical check-ups.
Meru urged the departments concerned to depute staff to assist pensioners and ensure proper coordination. He also asked the Peren District Pensioners’ Association to inform its members and encourage eligible pensioners to complete the process within the campaign period.
Meanwhile, the District Treasury Office (DTO), Phek, is conducting the campaign from November 2 to 30 in collaboration with the district administration and the Chief Medical Officer, Phek.
A separate DIPR report stated that the camp will be held on all working days from 10 am to 1 pm at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Phek.
Pensioners have been asked to bring their Aadhaar cards, Pension Payment Order (PPO) books, pension-receiving bank details and smartphones.
Free health camp services will also be provided for pensioners in Phek district during the campaign. The DTO has urged all pensioners to participate and avail themselves of the Digital Life Certificate facility provided by the government.
Meanwhile, in Kiphire, officials and stakeholders held a meeting on the campaign strategy at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kiphire, on November 3.
