DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): Dimapur stormed into the final of the Senior Men’s Inter-District Tournament 2025 with a commanding 10-wicket victory over Wokha in the semi-final held at Sovima Cricket Ground on Wednesday. A stellar bowling display, led by Hopongkyu Sangtam, restricted Wokha to a paltry 72 runs before Dimapur’s batters wrapped up the chase in just seven overs.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Wokha struggled against Dimapur’s disciplined bowling attack. Nchumbemo Kikon was the lone bright spot, scoring 33 off 26 balls, but the rest of the lineup faltered. Hopongkyu Sangtam was the chief destroyer, claiming 5 for 27 in eight overs, while Tahmeed provided strong support with figures of 4 for 22.
Chasing 73, Dimapur’s openers made quick work of the target, with Hem smashing an unbeaten 39 off 20 balls and Shamphri Terang finishing on 32* off 23 balls. Dimapur’s clinical all-round performance secured them a place in the final. Sangtam was named Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul.
