Dimapur, December 15 (MExN): Dimapur district emerged as the champion of the 19th Inter-District Table Tennis Championship 2011 defeating Kohima district in the finals, while Rolland Ngullie of Kohima won the Men’s Singles title defeating Hito Shohe of Dimapur.
Dijang & Meihomlung of Dimapur defeated Hito Shohe & Lovito Tuccu of Dimapur in the Men’s Doubles to win the title.
The closing ceremony was graced by Arthur Edward, Convenor, People’s Forum for Peace today. Addressing the participants, he underlined the importance of games and sports in one’s life saying that they should also given equal importance to their studies.
Recalling his school days when he was involved in sports and games and did not give importance to studies, Edward said the lessons he learnt by neglecting his studies was an eye opener for him and thus encouraged the participants to give equal importance to studies as well as games and sports in their life.
The occasion was also graced by president of Nagaland Table Tennis Association, Atuo Mezhur.
All participants were awarded certificates of participation.
