DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): A dispute over a plot of land located at United North Block, Naga Colony at Burma Camp resulted in one man getting seriously injured on March 18 last. The disputed plot of land measuring roughly one ‘Bigha’ in area reportedly belongs to one Zasievikho Zakiesatou.
Zakiesatou addressing media persons on Sunday evening on the turn of events said that he is the actual heir of the land left him by his late grandfather. He said that the said plot of land was in dispute for long with his aunt and her husband, one Sashisangba laying claim to it. On March 18 last, Zakiesatou said that the latter begun erecting bamboo poles demarcating the land ignoring an earlier ‘understanding’ arrived through intervention from relatives of both parties.
In order to bring to a halt to the construction activities Zakiesatou said that he along with a cousin went to reason with his aunt and her husband. It led to a heated argument between Zakiesatou and her aunt’s husband with them nearly coming to blows.
During the commotion a by-stander got injured. Zakiesatou stated that an airborne crowbar purportedly thrown at him missed the target and landed on the forehead of the by-stander. It was thrown by Sashisangba, Zakiesatou said. The by-stander identified as one Vihoto is said to be also a friend of Sashisangba. The object knocked him unconscious and into a state of coma. A police complaint was lodged by Zakiesatou against Sashisangba for the physical transgression. The latter was taken into custody by the police, Zakiesatou said.
