WOKHA, AUGUST 23 (MExN): The running trophy football match organized by 28 Assam Rifles (AR) Wokha, with an aim for selection of players from the district to represent in the forthcoming inter district football competition concluded on Thursday at local ground Wokha.
In the final match, Wozhuro FC beat Tsumang-A FC 1-0, with Chonbenthung being the lone scorer. The winners received a cash prize of 25,000 with medals and certificates. The runners-up Tsumag-A FC walked away with a cash prize of 15,000 along with medals and certificates.
Yibenthung Ezung of Tsumag-A FC and Meribemo Ezung from Proximos FC claimed the golden boot and golden gloves awards respectively claiming certificates and cash prize of 2,500 in the tourney.
Twenty four teams from 11 districts will vie for the upcoming Captain N. Kenguruse, Mahiver Chakra memorial football trophy. Two teams from the district will represent in the upcoming memorial football tourney with players picked from all the teams represented in the concluded district level competition.
