Chümoukedima, June 10 (MExN): Dr M Chuba Ao, Founder and Chairman of Mount Mary College, Chairman of MARCOFED Nagaland and National Vice President of the BJP, participated in the nationwide “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign during his recent visit to Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of World Environment Day.
According to a press release, Dr Ao joined officials and community members in a plantation drive organised at the Meerut Cantonment Board as part of the campaign aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainable living.
During the programme, he encouraged citizens to plant and nurture trees, stressing the collective responsibility of protecting the environment for future generations.
Dr Ao also travelled on the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail during his visit and appreciated the country's modern transportation infrastructure and digital payment systems, describing them as important steps towards sustainable development, the release said.
The Mount Mary College community expressed pride in Dr Ao's continued engagement in initiatives promoting environmental awareness, responsible leadership and community participation, it added.
