Chümoukedima, December 5 (MExN): Uttar Pradesh advanced to Semi-Final 1 of the Dr. T. Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) with a commanding 3–0 victory over Tripura in Match 17, played in Chümoukedima.
Uttar Pradesh took the lead in the opening minute after pressure on the Tripura defence forced an own goal by defender Uniki, giving them an immediate advantage.
The lead was doubled in the 2nd minute when Mansi finished clinically inside the box. Uttar Pradesh continued to press high and control possession, preventing Tripura from settling into the match.
Uttar Pradesh dominated the midfield exchanges and registered 57% ball possession while consistently threatening in the attacking third. Tripura struggled to respond and managed only two shots on target during the match.
The third goal came in the 60th minute through Shbana, who calmly finished to secure the win and seal Uttar Pradesh’s place in the knockout stage.
Uttar Pradesh maintained defensive organisation throughout, denying Tripura any opportunity to stage a comeback.
