Prominent Naga author and writer, Easterine Kire released her newest children’s book titled, ‘Molly & Froggo the Frog’ here during a book launch at the White Owl in 7th Mile Chümoukedima on February 19.
The book features illustrated art created by Freddie Thapru and is written by Kire which details the story of Molly, a little girl who lives in an enchanted forest with her mother. “It is an interactive book with drawings, which are left uncoloured for the children to do themselves.”

Kire shared that the story had been inspired during moments spending time with her grand-daughter in the summer of 2023, “telling her stories every night and this (story) just happened naturally.”
“It is a very visual story because I wanted to make it into a play and engage the imagination of young children,” she said.
Kire’s ‘Molly & Froggo the Frog’ features a number of different characters drawn from the world of fantasy and has a subtle moral message about being obedient to parents. The book is mostly written for children within the age range of 4-8 years, with the intention of taking the help of parents to read through the story.
She also mentioned that a live play based on the book will be organized in collaboration with the White Owl in the near future as well.
During the launch, Kire also provided a short snippet of the story for the children in the audience.
The book has been published by Barkweaver Publication and will be available at the White Owl bookstore.
