Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has directed all shopkeepers, business owners and commercial establishments within its jurisdiction to use “East Dimapur Town” as part of their official address in all shop signboards, display boards and business signage.
In a notification, the Council further instructed all concerned to clearly mention or indicate their respective ward numbers (1 to 11) along with the address on the same signage for proper identification and systematic address usage within the East Dimapur Town Council jurisdiction.
The Council stated that proper use of the address indicating East Dimapur Town along with the respective ward number would help improve administrative records, service delivery, postal communication and overall town management.
All shop and business owners have been directed to comply with the notification on or before March 31.
The Council warned that strict action would be taken against defaulters failing to comply within the stipulated deadline.
