Kohima, March 27 (MExN): The outgoing Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS was honoured with a farewell programme at Dr Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima on March 27.
The Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan, in his speech expressed his privilege in serving at Raj Bhavan for nearly two years. He reflected on his 13-year journey in Nagaland, emphasising that he is leaving only for a short time and will return, stated a press release issued by PRO, Raj Bhavan Kohima.
Soundararajan described the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan as a father figure to all and acknowledged the wisdom he gained from him lessons that, he said, cannot be found in books or acquired through mere experience. This, he noted, would be his most valuable takeaway.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan for their unwavering support, which enabled him to fulfill his duties diligently. Commending their capability and efficiency, he encouraged them to maintain their high standards and embrace continuous learning, remaining open to change when necessary.
The Governor took the opportunity to reminisce about his warm and cordial relationship with Soundararajan. He emphasised the significance of their linguistic connection, explaining how their ability to converse in their native tongue further strengthened their bond. The Governor further extended his warmest wishes for success and prosperity to Rajesh and his family.
Farewell messages were also delivered by Joint Secretary to Governor, Mhomo Tungoe; ADC to Governor, Squadron Leader Diptanshu Gupta; and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) commended Governor, Suresh RP. Short speeches were said by Avizo, JSO on behalf of Household Staff and Lucy Konyak, SA on behalf of the Governor Secretariat staff.
The programme was chaired by Jochule, Section Officer. A special song was presented by, Jongpongjeten and friends and vote of thanks was delivered by, Dzuviseno Tetso, PPS to Governor.
