DIMAPUR, APRIL 6 (MExN): A fire destroyed a family residence at Sunrise Colony in Kiusam Town on April 5 around 4 pm, leaving the home completely uninhabitable.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and the cause of the fire remains unknown. According to witnesses, neighbors and passersby quickly mobilized to help extinguish the flames and successfully prevented the fire from spreading to nearby homes.
The affected family is currently staying with relatives.
Members of St. John’s Catholic Church, Kiusam Town, visited the family to offer emotional and material support. Church members prayed with the family and provided immediate relief including clothes, kitchen utensils, basic provisions, and a small financial contribution.
One child from the household, a Class 6 student at St. John School in Kiusam, lost all school materials in the fire. The church has assured assistance with textbooks and other academic needs.
