DIMAPUR, APRIL 7 (MExN): The Neokpao and Alezo-led GPRN/NSCN (Unification) today stated that five more commands and units of the Naga Army under the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) have pledged their “unwavering support” to the leadership of President Gen. (Retd.) MB. Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh.
A press release issued by the Ministry of Information & Publicity said: “After the recent chaos and confusion that occurred at the Naga Unification Camp, Khehoi, on March 22, five more Commands and units of the Naga Army, GPRN/NSCN (Unification) had deliberated on the prevailing situation and thus took a decision to resolutely extend their unwavering support to the leadership of the president, Gen. (Retd.) MB. Neokpao konyak and Ato kilonser, Alezo venuh till the aspiration of the Naga people is materialized.”
According to the release, the commands and units include: Ao Region led by Col. Tongpangnungshi with Lieut. Takoklimba as Second-in-Command; Sumi Region Command led by Col. Hoikhu Zhimomi, with Maj. Vika Aye as Second-in-Command; Lotha Region Command led by Col. Mhachan, with Lieut. Maj. Thungro serving as Second-in-Command; Chakhesang Region Command led by Lieut. Col. Sheveyi, with Cap. Chevosa as Second-in-Command; and Angami Region Command is led by Col. Pitovi.
