FNTA is justice, but true victory lies in Indo-Naga Political Settlement: ENNWU

Dimapur, February 19 (MExN): The Eastern Naga National Workers Union (ENNWU), a welfare body for Eastern Nagas, GPRN/NSCN under the leadership of President RM Lotha, Vice-President Chennyiem Konyak, Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi, Dy Ato Kilonser Jungshiwati Ao, has acknowledged the tripartite agreement signed by the Government of India GoI), Government of Nagaland (GoN) and the Eastern Naga people's organisation (ENPO) on February 5.

“Every single inhabitant under eastern Nagaland has put in his/her heart and soul in pursuit of equality, justice and fairness in governance,” NT Yamthong Yimkhiung, Convener, ENNWU and F Pongba Konyak, Secretary, ENNWU stated in a press release.

“Should these very ideals be trampled again by incoming leaders and executive officers, it would be an unforgivable crime,” it stated while urging that due credit must be given to the erstwhile TMPO pioneers who took the first step and which gradually evolved into what is now called ENPO.

It asserted that FNTA is a culmination of the people's demand for equality and justice on accumulated administrative and economic discrepancies.

“As the FNTA interim members and administrators put execution plan into action as per FNTA Agreement, may Almighty God's wisdom be upon those engrossed in the transitional period to insist on accountability and transparency," it added.

It made a fervent appeal to all the apex tribal bodies under ENPO that now is the time to come together in unity and put all our efforts at securing acceptable and honourable Indo-Naga political solution.

“FNTA is justice to the ENPO, the true great victory of the ENPO lies ahead: the Indo-Naga political settlement,” it affirmed.
