Former Vice-Chancellor of NU, Hq Lumami, Prof Pardeshi Lal.

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): The Former Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Hq Lumami, Prof Pardeshi Lal has passed away at his home town Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on June 18.
In a condolence note, NU Lumami stated that Prof Pardeshi Lal had joined Nagaland University as a Professor in the Department of Zoology on May 15, 1997 prior to which he had served NEHU and Manipur University in various capacities. He was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of the University on May 18, 2017 and served the University in that capacity till September 14, 2022.
The Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellors, faculty, officers, staff and students of NU are deeply saddened by the sudden and untimely demise of Prof Pardeshi Lal, it stated while adding, “The contributions of Prof Pardeshi Lal to the growth and development of Nagaland University in various capacities right from its early days is beyond measure and will be remembered for years to come.”
His passing away is a loss beyond repair to Nagaland University as a whole and the academic fraternity, in particular, it stated.
“At this moment of sorrow, the entire University community mourns the untimely demise of Prof Pardeshi Lal and stands in solidarity with the bereaved family. May the almighty God console give the them and them with adequate strength to bear their grief,” it conveyed and prayed for the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
