The Veterinary Hospital Kohima under the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Nagaland conducted a free anti rabies vaccination camp on the occasion of World Zoonoses Day on July 6.
The theme for this year was World Zoonoses Day is “Preparedness for future epidemic/pandemic lessons learnt from COVID-19.”
Dr Elizabeth Yhome, Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Hospital Kohima informed that 178 pets (Dogs and Cats) were vaccinated during the camp.
World Zoonoses Day is observed annually on July 6 to honor the achievements of Louis Pasteur, a renowned French biologist and to create awareness on the growing threat of zoonotic diseases and ways to prevent them.
