Free health camp brings specialist services to Wokha Village

Wokha, July 19 (MExN): The Wokha Village Eloe Ekhung, in collaboration with the Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department under the establishment of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Wokha, organised a free health camp at PM SHRI Government High School, Wokha Village, on July 18.

The camp offered general health check-ups, antenatal check-ups, blood sugar and blood pressure tests, eye screening, HIV testing, malaria and tuberculosis screening, free medicines and generation of Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) cards, among other services.

The medical team comprised specialists in orthopaedics, gynaecology and obstetrics, dermatology and venereology, surgery and psychiatry, along with AYUSH and Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) medical officers, informed a press release from the CMO Wokha. 

Personnel from the MMU, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP), District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) and CMHIS also participated.

Delivering the welcome address, Wokha Village Head GB Vandan Erui acknowledged the support of the CMO, Wokha, in organising the camp for the welfare of the community. He said such initiatives play a vital role in bringing healthcare services directly to the people.

On behalf of the village council and residents, Erui also expressed appreciation to the medical team for dedicating their time and expertise to serving the community.

Wokha Village Eloe Ekhung President Elonbeni Tungoe said the camp was organised in collaboration with the Health Department to provide free healthcare services to villagers who were unable to visit health facilities. 

She expressed hope that community members would benefit from the services provided.
