Chümoukedima, June 16 (MExN): A five-member French delegation led by Marc Boudin, Director, Alliance Francaise du Bengale visited Nagaland from June 12 to 17. During the visit, a series of high-level meetings were held with discussions centred around culinary, culture & traditions; tourism & hospitality, sports & preventive medicine, French language and professional development, international media and promotion, corporate and institutional partnerships etc.
Other French members included individuals with prominence in their respective sectors namely Linda Myriam Bortoletto, traveler and explorer; Olivier Karim Thienot, Founder of l'École du vin de France; Damien Laurent Marie Monnot, Chief Medical Officer, Olympique deMarseille; and Moitrayee Dhar, Cultural Manager, Alliance Francaise du Bengale.
Abu Metha, Chairman IDAN chaired a roundtable meeting with the French delegation and senior Government officials and relevant private stakeholders. He stressed on establishing partnerships and collaborations, strengthening people to people ties, diplomacy and other mutually beneficial ideas.
Advisor IPR & Soil & Water Conservation Daochier I Imchen graced the occasion and emphasised on promoting local culture and convert it into a viable economy. He spoke about IPR initiatives such as the cine fest, film festivals, animation and gaming, and invited the French delegation to collaborate.

Marc Boudin, Director, Alliance Francaise du Bengale resonated on the similarities with Nagas and called Nagaland a ‘region of culture’. He highlighted that this visit is not only to promote French culture but to link Naga and French culture and promote Nagaland in France through partnerships and exchanges.
Other attendees included Theja Meru, Chairman, TaFMA; Kvulo Lorin, Chairman NIDC; Rajeev Ranjan, CEO, Niathu Group of Hotels, and senior officials from Art & Culture, IPR, Tourism, Horticulture, Youth Resources & Sports, Industries & Commerce, Nagaland Olympic Association, Nagaland Tourism Association, WENN, Heritage Beverages of Nagaland, The White Owl, etc.
Together with industry partner for French Delegation Visit, Niathu Group of Hotels (NGH), a series of activities were organized like the Culinary Appreciations & Food Pairing Knowledge; Football Enthusiasts Panel Discussion and Inauguration of the Football Corner, Ruby Café 24x7.
It may be highlighted here that the delegation’s visit is an outcome of the Country Partner Business Roundtable held during the Hornbill Festival last year. His Excellency, Ambassador of France to India had led a high-level French delegation highlighting several areas of collaboration with Nagaland.
