Mokokchung, July 8 (MExN): Fazl Ali College organised an orientation programme for newly admitted BA, BCom and BSc first-semester students at its college auditorium on July 8, introducing them to the institution's academic environment, facilities and values.

Addressing the programme, Vice Principal L S Vinod welcomed the new students and congratulated them on securing admission to the college. He also provided an overview of the academic structure under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), acquainting students with the curriculum and academic framework.

The Vice Principal also highlighted the college's annual merit-based admission fee concession scheme, under which outstanding students receive a 50% concession on admission fees. This year, ten students were selected for the benefit—five from the Arts stream, three from Science and two from Commerce. During the programme, the refunded admission fee amounts were presented to the selected students.

An overview of the college was delivered by Maongienla, Assistant Professor in the Department of English, who familiarised students with the institution's infrastructure, academic facilities across different streams, extracurricular opportunities, student support services and other benefits available on campus. She also emphasised the importance of adhering to the college's code of conduct.

The programme was chaired by Sashikokla Jamir, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, while Nungshitemjen Longkumer, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, offered a special prayer for the newly admitted students.

The orientation was attended by students, parents, guardians and faculty members.
