CHÜMOUKEDIMA, APRIL 8 (MExN): The fourth day of the Frolic Cup witnessed some thrilling matches, with Lomgol FC, Medziphema FC, and United Falcon FC securing spots in the next round.
In the morning match, Lomgol FC triumphed over Zohan FC with a dominant 3-0 victory. The match was one-sided from the start, as Zohan FC struggled to recover from an early setback. Lomgol FC took the lead in the 6th minute through Ngulminthang, who then doubled the lead in the 20th minute. Before halftime, Jangmang sealed the victory with another goal in the 31st minute. Despite some impressive play in the second half, neither team managed to score further, and the match ended with a 3-0 scoreline in favor of Lomgol FC.
In the afternoon fixture, Medziphema FC delivered a commanding performance, defeating SFS Academy 9-2. The match was an entertaining goal-fest, with Medziphema FC showing their dominance throughout. The senior players were seen guiding the junior academy boys, ensuring a positive team atmosphere. Kanumdi was the star for Medziphema FC, netting a hat-trick with goals in the 3rd, 22nd, 24th, and 43rd minutes. The evening match saw United Falcon FC edge past Dream Team Tsiepama with a 1-0 win. The match was a tight contest, with both teams working hard to break down each other’s defense. The only goal of the match came in the 42nd minute, when Vimegolie Kire of United Falcon FC fired in a long-range strike that proved to be the match-winner. Despite some late pressure from Dream Team Tsiepama, United Falcon held on to secure their spot in the quarterfinals.
