Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): Commission for Education Diocese of Kohima (CEDOK) organized a two-day Games meet for All Nagaland Catholic Schools from September 20-21. Sushil Kumar Patel IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur graced the occasion as the special guest.
He called upon the participants to fully take part the event with true sportsmanship. He also declared the sports event open and hosted the CEDOK flag, a release here stated.
The concluding ceremony was graced by Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima. He exhorted the participants and said we should carry with the values and not only the trophies.
Fr Jacob Charalel, elucidated the purpose of the Tournament and said that the meet to bring students to a bigger arena to compete and to learn from each other.
Fr Chacko K, Director, Shalom Rehabilitation invoked God’s Grace during the closing ceremony.
Meanwhile, St Andrew’s School, Thenyizumi emerged as the over champions of the Tournament.
More than 800 participants took part in the different sports discipline which included football, volleyball and basketball. Carmel Hr. Sec. School and St. Joseph’s Hr. Sec. School Chumukedima were the host schools. Altogether 29 Catholic Schools participated in the meet.
