KOHIMA, MARCH 30 (MExN): Nagaland Governor La Ganesan on March 30 lauded the dedication, discipline, and service of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets during a felicitation program at Raj Bhavan, Kohima. The event coincided with the screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat broadcast.
Addressing the gathering, Ganesan commended the cadets for their achievements, highlighting the NCC’s role in shaping character, fostering patriotism, and preparing future leaders.

“The NCC is much more than a youth organization—it is a movement that shapes character, instills patriotism, and grooms the future leaders of our great nation,” he said. “Today, we felicitate cadets who have brought pride to our state through their remarkable accomplishments.”
He noted that some cadets had participated in the All India Republic Day Parade in New Delhi, while others earned medals at national events and youth camps. Several cadets have also qualified for the National Defence Academy, he added.
Ganesan emphasized that the achievements of the cadets were not just personal milestones but a reflection of the values upheld by the NCC. He also underscored the impact of Mann Ki Baat, saying the program regularly highlights individuals and organizations contributing to society, and the recognition of NCC cadets was in line with that spirit.

Encouraging more youth to join the NCC, he urged them to embrace the values of Seva aur Samarpan (Service and Dedication), whether they choose careers in the armed forces, civil services, or other fields.
“I once again extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the cadets being felicitated today. Your achievements make Nagaland proud, and I have no doubt that you will continue to shine as torchbearers of our nation’s future,” he said.
During the event, outstanding cadets were honored for their performance in leadership, community service, and national-level competitions. The Governor presented certificates of appreciation to the awardees. Officials from the Governor’s Secretariat, NCC officers, Assam Rifles personnel, and other dignitaries attended the function.
