KOHIMA, MARCH 28 (MExN): The Home Department government has ordered immediate withholding of salaries for several Secretariat employees found absent during a surprise attendance check. The inspection, conducted on March 27 across various branches of the Home Department at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, was led by Deputy Chief Minister for Home, accompanied by the Home Commissioner. The check revealed that 22 officers and staff members were absent without authorization, according to an order. Under the state’s “No Work, No Pay” policy, their salaries are to be withheld immediately, the order stated. The employees have been directed to report for duty and submit explanations for their absence. Further action may be taken if their justifications are deemed unsatisfactory.
