GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) suspends ‘formal agreements’ with ZUF (Kamson)

Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) has announced the suspension of all “formal agreements” with the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) led by S. Kamson, citing alleged actions contrary to past understandings and commitments.

It has also withdrawn the representation of ZUF (Kamson) in the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs) and prohibited its participation in the Committee’s events until the Front’s leadership takes what it described as “Naga-centric steps.”

In a statement issued on January 27, the GPRN/NSCN (Kitovi) said it was shocked by what it described as the ZUF (Kamson) “hobnobbing with other Naga groups” and alleged involvement in incidents of arson endangering the lives of civilians in villages.

Such actions were “against the spirit” of the merger declaration signed on October 26, 2019, as well as the GPRN/NSCN–ZUF Alliance Modalities signed on October 28, 2019, it added.

The GPRN/NSCN ( Kitovi) further claimed that the ZUF leadership, which had participated in Indo-Naga political negotiations and attended meetings WC, NNPGs, had “unilaterally indulged in communal and sectarian violence,” which was against interest of the Naga people.

Accordingly, the GPRN/NSCN led by President Maj (Retd) RM Lotha and Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi announced the suspension of all agreements with ZUF (Kamson) and its participation in the WC, NNPGs.
