GPRN/NSCN (U) mourns demise of Kilonser Kiyeto Yepthomi

Dimapur, January 16 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (U) has expressed deep shock and profound sorrow over the sudden and untimely demise of its senior member, Kiyeto (Gideon) Yepthomi, Kilonser and member of the Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFSB).

In a condolence message, the GPRN/NSCN (U), under the leadership of its president, Gen (Retd) M B Neokpao Konyak, and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh, said Yepthomi passed away in the late evening hours of Thursday, January 15.

Late Yepthomi, the son of late Lutoi Yepthomi, was a native of Pimla village under Chümoukedima district.

Recalling his contributions, the GPRN/NSCN (U) said Yepthomi joined the Naga Nationalist Movement on January 15, 1995, and served the Naga national cause with unwavering commitment till his last breath. 

During his long association with the movement, he served in various capacities and was known for his sincerity, discipline, resilience and loyalty, guided by a strong sense of duty and purpose, the statement said.

The statement described his death as an irreparable loss not only to the bereaved family, relatives and the Sumi community, but also to the Naga people as a whole. It said his lifelong dedication, selfless service and commitment to the aspirations of the Naga nation would be remembered and continue to inspire future generations.

Furthermore, it also conveyed prayers to the Almighty for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace and for strength and consolation to the bereaved family to endure the loss.
