The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) undertook a tree plantation drive under the slogan “Grow Green, Live Green” as part of its 22nd Biennial General Conference at St Xavier College, Jalukie in Peren district on October 29.
Gracing the event as the special guest, ANCSU former president Vilhousielie Kengurüse said “Grow Green, Live Clean” is not just a slogan. It is a movement, a mission and a moral responsibility.”
Stressing on the need to nurture the planet earth with care, compassion and commitment, he said “Let us Plant trees, nurture forests and preserve biodiversity, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and minimize waste, Conserve Water, Energy and Natural resources.”
Stressing on the need to embrace a lifestyle of eco-friendliness, Kengurüse challenged the students to adopt clean energy sources and reduce pollution, Practice eco-friendly habits and reduce carbon footprint, promote sustainable agriculture and healthy living.
“By Growing Green and Living Clean, we can combat climate change and protect our planet, ensure clean air, water and a healthier life and create a sustainable future for generations to come,” he said.
He also called upon the students to join the crusade to Grow Green and Live Clean.
Our planet’s future depends on our collective action of today. Our choices of what we use, what we throw, what we plant- shape the destiny of our planet, he said.
Take the pledge! Commit to making eco-friendly choices daily. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener and brighter future, he added.
“I plant this tree as a living promise to protect our environment and eradicate nepotism, favouritism, corruption and negative minds of the youths and public in general, he said while initiating the plantation drive.
Earlier, the plantation drive service was led by Kruto Tetseo, member organizing committee, ANCSU Biennial General Conference 2025.
