Kohima, July 7 (MExN): Home Commissioner, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha chaired a coordination meeting on Tuesday to review preparations for the State-level celebration of the 80th Independence Day, with officials discussing work distribution and key logistical arrangements for the event.
The meeting, held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, was attended by representatives of various departments responsible for the celebration. Discussions covered parade management, the ceremonial function, cultural programmes, logistics and other operational aspects.
Sinha said such coordination meetings are held well in advance each year to ensure all participating departments and agencies are clear about their roles and responsibilities. He noted that the State follows a uniform programme for Independence Day celebrations across all districts.
Emphasising the need for meticulous planning and inter-departmental coordination, the Home Commissioner said necessary instructions would be issued to all concerned departments and Deputy Commissioners to initiate preparations for the celebration.
As per the State DIPR, he also acknowledged the efforts of departments in successfully organising previous Independence Day celebrations and urged them to maintain the same level of coordination and professionalism to ensure the smooth conduct of this year's programme.
