DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): An Advocate representing the Nagaland Home Minister has served a notice to Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President SI Jamir over the latter’s “shocking, extremely disgusting, knowingly deplorable, highly personal, prima facie libelous and unquestionably unpardonable remark” against the individual of Imkong L Imchen as appearing in the local media on May 15, 2011.
According to the notice from the Advocate, Moayanger Imchen, the NPCC President SI Jamir had asked Imkong L Imchen “how many from his bloodline were in the national service during the turbulent times”. The notice pointed out that such “ridiculous, unwarranted, diabolic and knowingly malicious public statement is apparently without any rhyme and reason and is expressly tantamount to complete negation of sensible human intellect and conscience”.
As such SI Jamir was notified to “specifically clarify and explain” on the seven points, which was listed out by the Advocate.
As per the first point, SI Jamir was asked as to “with what power and authority did he dare to raise this very question to Imkong L Imchen”. “Why does he want to know and for what purpose, specify”, stated the second point. Thirdly, “what does he mean by national service” and that he i.e. SI Jamir must “declare his own national service”. Fourthly, “what period of years is called turbulent times”. The NPCC President was asked to specify the period and years. Fifthly, what did SI Jamir mean by his (Imkong L Imchen’s) bloodline. “From what bloodline did SI Jamir come from to question the bloodline of Imkong L Imchen”, the notice stated adding that SI Jamir must first declare his bloodline.
Sixthly, the notice wanted to know “in what place, date and time he (SI Jamir) wants to know the information he has sought for or if it is court of law, where and when”. Lastly, the notice wanted to know whether SI Jamir’s question to Imkong L Imchen was officially made by the NPCC or was it his own.
The notice wanted an explanation within seven days or “otherwise withdraw his statement with public apology”. The notice also stated that once SI Jamir made his explanation, “our answer to him will be exceedingly swift and explicitly clear”.
