Hornbill Festival: Day 8 pulls record 76645 visitors

Kohima, December 8 (MExN): With footfall of 76645, the 8th day of the 20th Hornbill Festival saw the highest turn out yet at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 8, beating the previous day's record of 53,311 visitors. Another notable feature on Day 8 was the considerable increase in footfall of 23,464 domestic tourists, according to figure provided by the State Tourism Department. The combined total of domestic tourists in the last 7 days before Sunday was only 27210. Apart from domestic tourists, there were 192 foreign tourists on Sunday along with 76645 local visitors from Nagaland taking the total to 76645. With this, the total visitors in the last 8 days stands at 2,39,901 (2799- Foreign; 49,674– Domestic; and 187428– local), 11,800 short of the total 2, 51,701 registered in 2018. In addition, the total of domestic and foreign tourists have already surpassed the previous year's figure with two days to go. The 81,982 visitors registered on Day 10 of the Hornbill Festival 2018 is yet to be beaten.
