ICAR Nagaland holds farmer-scientist interaction

ICAR Nagaland Centre organized two farmer awareness cum Farmer-Scientist interaction programmes at Moava village, Dimapur district and Ngwalwa village, Peren district on February 1 and 3 respectively.

 

Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): ICAR Nagaland Centre organized two farmer awareness cum Farmer-Scientist interaction programmes at Moava village, Dimapur district and Ngwalwa village, Peren district on February 1 and 3 respectively.


It was held under the theme “Adaptation Strategies to Climate Change for Sustainable Agriculture in Nagaland” under the Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa (GKMS) project. 


Imtisenla Walling, Technical Officer, AMFU Jharnapani, ICAR Nagaland Centre gave the introductory remarks and apprised the participants about the activities under  the GKMS project and highlighted the role of weather based agro-advisories in farm planning and efficient mobilization of farm resources more especially in the context of  changing climate scenario. The participants were apprised about various management strategies of various vegetable crops, spices, plantation crops, poultry and piggery production. 


Farmer-Scientist interaction programme was also organized where scientists from ICAR Nagaland centre Dr Azeze Seyie, Dr Ph Romen Sharma, Dr Mahak Singh and Dr Aabon W Yanthan addressed the queries raised by the farmers. Altogether 91 farmers attended the programme.
