IDANSB condoles demise of President

Kohima, July 10 (MExN): The Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch (IDANSB), has expressed shock and anguish over the sudden demise of Dr Imsuakum Jamir on July 9, 2025, at Christian Medical College, Vellore.

He was serving as the President of IDANSB at the time of his death.

In a condolence message, the Association paid tribute to late Dr Jamir’s unwavering dedication and commitment in various capacities, including Convenor, Continuing Oral and Dental Education (CODE): 2013–2014; Vice President: 2022; and President-Elect: 2023–2024.

In addition to his contributions to IDANSB, he served as a Medical Officer under the National Health Mission (NHM) in the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), with postings in Dimapur and Peren districts.

He was also the President of the Dimapur/Chümoukedima Dental Practitioners Association before being elected as IDA State President, it added.

Dr Jamir was a towering presence within the IDANSB and exemplified service with grace, wisdom, and compassion, earning the respect and admiration of peers and juniors alike, the Association further stated.

“His untimely demise is a profound loss to the dental fraternity in Nagaland. He was not only an exceptional professional but also an entrepreneur and a mentor whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” it said.

His selfless contributions to the Association and the medical fraternity will be remembered with deep gratitude, it added.

The IDANSB also offered its condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family of late Dr Jamir, including his wife Imlirenla Kichu, daughter Lizungla, and son Tisemti.

“We pray that Almighty God grants them strength and solace during this time of grief,” it added.
