Dimapur, April 11 (MExN): Pranab College, Dimapur in collaboration with MIT University Shillong, conducted the 1st annual inter-college fest ‘IGNISIA + CONNECT’ on April 10 and 11. The two-day event held with the theme ‘Ignite your Passion, Talent and Skills’ culminated with participation from 16 colleges, an update received here stated.
The inaugural session was chaired by Dr Sanjukta Bhattacharjee, IQAC Coordinator, Pranab College. The opening ceremony was graced by Basu Damani, State Vice President, BJP as chief guest and Bobby Roy, Director, MIT University Shillong as guest of honour.
Delivering the welcome, Pranab College, Principal Dr Santosh Kumar, stated that ‘IGNISIA + CONNECT’ is more than a competition, emphasising it as a celebration of ideas, talents and lifelong friendships.
The Principal announced that in addition to cash prizes for all events, the ‘Pranabanandaji Maharaj Running Trophy’ would be awarded to the overall champion of the fest. Additionally, ‘Late Manik Bhattacharjee Memorial Trophy’ for the girls’ volleyball event was introduced to honour the college's founder secretary, who played a pivotal role in promoting holistic education for women.
The first day of the fest featured literary events, sports competitions and multimedia presentations, while the second day focused on business innovations, volleyball matches for both boys and girls and entertainment activities.
The fest concluded with the announcement of winners, with Patkai Christian College taking home the ‘Late Manik Bhattacharjee Memorial Trophy’ for the Girls' volleyball event, and Pranab College, emerging as the overall champion of the fest for 2025.
