Kohima, June 9 (MExN): The first meeting of the Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC), Nagaland, for 2026 was held at Akashvani Kohima on Tuesday.
According to a PIB Kohima release, the committee, constituted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, brings together Central and State Government departments and media units to strengthen public communication, coordinate media outreach and address misinformation.
During the meeting, Director of Census Operations, Nagaland, Dr K Miachieo briefed members on preparations and awareness campaigns for Census 2027. He informed that the House Listing Operation in Nagaland will be conducted from July 1 to 30, 2026, while a Self-Enumeration facility will be available through the official Census portal from June 16 to 30.
Miachieo said more than 6,100 enumerators and supervisors have been deployed for the exercise and highlighted plans for awareness campaigns through print, radio, television and digital platforms, including programmes in 15 local dialects, Nagamese and English.
Chairing the meeting, PIB Kohima Head of Office P Sophie stressed the need for a coordinated, theme-based media strategy and urged stakeholders to work closely with PIB in countering misinformation related to government programmes and initiatives.
Representatives from PIB, CBC, Doordarshan, Akashvani, DIPR Nagaland and the Directorate of Census Operations attended the meeting, which also deliberated on publicity measures for the successful conduct of Census 2027 in the Stat
