Integrated Communication and Outreach programme in Tuensang held

Tuensang, February 28 (MExN): The Central Bureau of Communication, Field Office Tuensang organised a one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on 9 years of Seva Sushasan and GaribKalyan and SVEEP Campaign at Eklavya Model Residential School, Tuensang on February 27.

A DIPR report stated that T Temsu Pongen, Inspector as the special guest and Hongsangsonla were the resource speaker.

Speaking on the occasion, T Temsu Pongen highlighted the importance of effective utilisation of government schemes besides employment opportunities available to the youth. He stated that learning is a continuous process and encouraged the students to never stop learning for success because life never stops. He further added that the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the Government and public by facilitating clear and reliable information dissemination.

Hongsangsonla Chang in her short speech stated that Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign is a flagship programme of the Election Commission of India for voters education, spreading voters awareness and promoting voters literacy in India. She added that the primary goal of SVEEP is to build a truly participating democracy in India by encouraging all eligible citizens to vote and make an informed decision during the Election. The programme is based on multiple general as well as target intervention, which are designed according to the social-economic, cultural and demographic profile of the state as well as the history of electoral participation in previous rounds of election and learning. She further urged the students and dignitaries in the programme to spread the knowledge among families, friends and neighbours.

The programme was chaired by Arenjungla, Headmistress EMRS, while Sungmo, Administrator ERMS delivered the welcome address. Vote of thanks was delivered by Hingnamdi Newme, Field Publicity Officer CBC, FO Tuensang. Other activities of the programme included oral communication, public gathering, group discussion, quiz competition and rally.
