IRCS Zunheboto visits landslide-hit areas, provides relief assistance

Zunheboto, August 19 (MExN): The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Zunheboto District Branch, on August 19 visited landslide-affected areas of Zunheboto town to assess the situation and extend assistance to affected residents.

The team was led by IRCS Zunheboto District Branch Chairman and Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, IAS, and Honorary Secretary Akükau Kashito Yeptho. Officials and representatives of the District Administration, District Disaster Management Authority, Zunheboto Town Council, Dobashis, Zunheboto Town GB and National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) also accompanied the team.

 

During the visit, the team took stock of the ground situation and interacted with affected families in areas impacted by the ongoing landslide and ground movement.

The IRCS Zunheboto District Branch also provided cash assistance and relief materials to affected residents in different parts of Zunheboto town.

Assistance was extended to Lashili Kiho, Zhekugha of North Point Colony, Atovi of Alahuto Colony, Phutovi of North Point Colony, Anato, Ghukheto, Kiyelho and Kashito Jimo.
