PHED Nagaland host workshop on Public Financial Management System under JJM
Kohima, January 28 (MExN): The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of Nagaland organized a workshop on implementation of Public Financial Management System (PFMS) under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) with the initiative of GoI Ministry of Jal Shakti Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission at NIELIT Meriema on January 28.
According to a press release, the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) aims to provide drinking water to rural households. The plan will feed into the district and state plans which are Centre's most recent flagship scheme, a mission for water supply, safe drinking and tackle water crisis.
Resource persons during the workshop were Tikeshwar Singh, PFMS consultant, Jal Shakti Ministry, GoI and Vikash Kumar, Section Officer, Jal Shakti Ministry, GoI.
The programme was chaired by Er Repang Longkumer, chief engineer PHED, keynote address on behalf of the department by MK Mero, Principal Secretary, PHED, while introduction of workshop was delivered by Vikash Kumar, Section Officer, Jal Shakti Ministry, GoI and the highlights of implementation on Public Financial Management System was offered by Vishito Kulnu, Asst. Account Officer from Ministry of Finance Department.
This particular major objective mission is to provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) to every rural household by 2024. Officials from all districts of Nagaland from each divisions of PHED participated the workshop.
