Officials along with the winners during the district-level programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2026 at JCC in Kohima on August 5.
Kohima, August 5 (MExN): Japfu Christian College (JCC), Kigwema, on Wednesday hosted the district-level programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2026, aimed at raising awareness among youth about the dangers of substance abuse and encouraging their participation in building a drug-free India.
The programme was organised under the aegis of MY Bharat Kohima of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
In her welcome address, JCC Principal Prof. Visakhonü Hibo thanked the organisers for choosing the college as the venue and said the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 could be realised only through holistic human development alongside other national development priorities.
State Programme Supervisor Ruokuovikho Chale highlighted the significance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign and urged participants to become ambassadors of a drug-free society.
District Youth Officer Pradeep J gave an overview of the objectives of the programme and thanked the college for hosting the district-level event.
As part of the programme, participants took a drug-free pledge, reaffirming their commitment to stay away from drugs and substance abuse. A signature campaign was also organised to enable participants to publicly express their support for the anti-drug initiative.
The event also featured competitions in elocution, slogan writing, painting, music and rap, dance, and slam poetry to promote the campaign's message.
The winners were Lumseli S. Sangtam (Elocution), Ngipton (Slogan Writing), Lepshing (Painting), Angke, Peche and Konchai (Music & Rap), Lenzila and Retila (Dance), and Nyanchumi (Slam Poetry). They will represent Kohima district at the state-level competition.
