Delivering the keynote address, Dheeraj, District Youth Officer, MY BHARAT Mokokchung, spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a drug-free India and stressed that achieving the goal required collective efforts from individuals, institutions and society.

Drawing on his personal experiences of witnessing families affected by drug abuse, Dheeraj highlighted the serious consequences of substance abuse for individuals and their families.

He said awareness programmes were important in helping people understand the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging them to make healthier choices. He stressed the need to support individuals struggling with substance use, help them gradually reduce their consumption and prevent young people from developing such habits.

He also highlighted the importance of open communication, sports and other constructive activities in keeping young people engaged and helping them stay away from substance abuse.

Dheeraj thanked Jubilee Memorial College for organising the programme and expressed hope that the initiative would raise awareness and contribute to reducing substance abuse in society.

A pledge was administered by Sashikumzuk Rongsen Longkumer, convenor of the Students' Council, Jubilee Memorial College. The pledge encouraged participants to take personal responsibility in the fight against substance abuse and spread awareness among others.
