Kohima, June 7 (MExN): The Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) observed World Environment Day on June 5 by organizing a plantation  and cleanliness drive along the stretch from KMC Parking, Upper Agri Colony towards Kohima Science College, Jotsoma gate.

Lok Sabha MP, S. Supongmeren Jamir also joined the plantation drive with KDLSA team.

In keynote address, Mezivolu T. Therieh, Chairperson, KDLSA and Principal District & Sessions Judge, Kohima, expressed sincere appreciation to the district administration for their logistic support and  the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Kohima and Entrepreneur Associates for their generous contribution in providing fruit tree saplings of chestnut, guava, wild apple and also cherry tree saplings for the plantation drive.

She emphasized the importance of protecting and preserving the environment.

She highlighted that every individual can contribute towards environmental conservation through small but meaningful actions and encouraged all participants to continue promoting a greener and healthier environment.

Earlier,  Kusalu Lohe, Panel Lawyer, KDLSA chaired the programme while  Cheliam Khiamniungan, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary, KDLSA delivered welcome address.

Vote of thanks was proposed  by Nuhuvolu, Panel Lawyer, KDLSA.

Later, KDLSA m0embers and interns from St Joseph College and Don Bosco College planted 130 tree saplings.
