Kohima, January 17 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, Regional Transport Authority, Kohima, B Henok Buchem, NCS, has issued a notification stating that the newly completed bypass road adjacent to Khouchiezlie Local Ground, connecting the South Gate to the North Gate, has been opened for vehicular traffic with immediate effect.
According to the notification, only light motor vehicles (LMVs) will be permitted to ply on the bypass. The road will operate strictly as a one-way route, with traffic moving from the South Gate towards Razhu Point Junction via the North Gate of Khouchiezlie Local Ground. Vehicular entry from Razhu Point Junction towards the North Gate of Khouchiezlie Local Ground has been restricted.
The notification further informed that all street vendors presently operating in the Razhu Point area, NST area, DC Office Road and Phoolbari will be relocated to designated spaces along the bypass road. The Kohima Municipal Council and the Town Street Vending Committee will manage the relocation arrangements at an early date.
It was also clarified that parking of vehicles along the entire stretch of the bypass road will not be permitted. In addition, the parking area for two-wheeler taxis at Razhu Point Junction will be shifted to the designated parking space opposite Ozone Cafe.
