Searching for a way to peace lies in the word of God according to Phil. 4:8, “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Human wisdom has its limit and all have shortcomings and weaknesses. In spite of it, if we are sincere and honest to think on these things and always try to deter from whatsoever things which are contrary to what is virtue, we are on the right track to the good of the people.
Our Naga national movement has entered the seventh decade and we find ourselves to be in more and more complicated situation. Today we have two main national organisations. The Naga National Council which was the national institution but was disarrayed after the Shillong accord and was split into several different groups. The Naga Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) had in fact sustained the national movement which the NNC could not do after the Shillong Accord. But it was also split into two groups and the group led by Issac Swu and Th Muivah had a ceasefire agreement with the GOI and the political dialogue has been going on to bring a solution to the problem but possibility of a solution seems to be still remote.
Had the socialist organization been a consolidated organization, a settlement could have been arrived at through them. But it split and the two factions and the two NSCNs have been in endless conflict resulting in killing hundreds of lives and they have been bitter rivals in spite of having the same nomenclature. On the other hand, had NNC honestly admitted the truth and re-organized itself basing on Naga national principle, the division would have been resolved and mass support would have been regained but instead, it has remained a mere campers for 35 years as if waiting for some thing without activity, except paper work. Thus Nagas cannot get united under the nomenclature NSCN or NNC as the status quo.
Where is the solution? Can Naga national organization assure the Nagas that they can bring a solution to the problem? Whether sovereignty or no sovereignty, there is no way for a solution which is hidden in obedience to the word of God mentioned above. Actually there is a way for solution. It depends on us. The solution may be in accordance with your sincere opinion. Think of it with sincerity. God may make use of you for his glory. Throw away the dirt and gather the good from now on.
Is this a way? If not, excuse me. This is my personal suggestion:
The political talks have been going on under the leadership of Isak Swu and Th Muivah and as they have been handling the talk they continue to led the talk. But the situation demands tat the leaders of the respective organisations are magnanimous enough to accept a changed nomenclature such as “Re- organized Naga National Councilor National Council of Nagaland.” The suffix “Lim” has decisive element among the Nagas. So the same nomenclature like this or nay other should be accepted by all whereby all national organisations such as the NSCN (I-M), NSCN (K), so called NNC pro-Shillong Accord and NNC anti-Shillong Accord all merge together to be in the same boat under the banner of forgiveness and reconciliation in the name of Jesus Christ. Let us sacrifice self- prestige for the sake of national prestige and for the glory of God.
