Maova, Khaibung, Nissi FC and MVYO win on Day 3 of Frolic Cup

Medziphema, April 7 (MExN): Day 3 of the Frolic Cup featured a series of matches, with Maova Youth & Students (Maova Y&S), Khaibung Youth & Students (KYS), Nissi FC, and Medziphema Village Youth Organisation (MVYO) emerging victorious across four fixtures.

In the morning’s first match, IETC Warriors and Maova Y&S played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw in regulation time. After a goalless first half with limited opportunities, Lamkhogin scored for Maova Y&S in the 46th minute. The Warriors responded through Sedevituo’s strike in the 57th. The match went into penalties, where Maova Y&S claimed victory with a 3-0 shootout win.

The second morning match saw a dominant display by Khaibung Y&S, who defeated Shaktiman FC 5-1. KYS established control early with goals from Arap (15’), Patinsat (18’), and Mangkhohao (19’), followed by a fourth from Ngaminlun in the 30th minute. Rato added the final goal in the 51st minute. Despite conceding once, KYS held strong to complete a convincing win.

In the afternoon, Nissi FC secured a 2-0 win over SFS Football Academy Juniors. Both sides displayed composure and discipline, but the deadlock was broken by Sese in the 43rd minute. Chongsen doubled the lead in the 67th to seal the win.

The day concluded with an evening match between MVYO and Simlai FC. MVYO took an early lead through Nisede Peseyie in the 12th minute. Simlai FC equalised with a powerful long-range strike by Languimang in the 25th. The decisive goal came in the 69th minute from Thejaseto Gwirie, who capitalised on a goalkeeping error from a direct kick to secure a 2-1 win for MVYO.
