DIMAPUR, APRIL 1 (MExN): The Mimi Circle Joint Council (MCJC) has expressed outrage at a recent press statement issued by the Phokhungri Area Public Organization in what the former termed as the latter’s “open support to Laruri and Sutsu Villages in the land dispute.”
“For an external entity like PAPO to step in and openly favor one party will only escalate the issue. By aligning themselves so openly with Laruri and Sutsu villages, the PAPO has not only undermined the principles of neutrality and respect for all parties but has also disrupted the chance for a balanced and peaceful resolution,” a press release from the MCJC stated.
It appealed to the PAPO not to interfere “in our traditional land dispute issue to avoid further escalation and withdraw from any involvement in the dispute.”
