SSS Yellow beat Telongjem FC 1-0 to win the third place of the MDFA Trophy 2018. The first 45 minutes of the game ended in a draw 0-0, with both the teams failing to score any goal. In the 58th minute of the game, Alemsusang of SSS Yellow scored a goal amidst a jumbled defence position of Telongjem FC in the T-box.
Telongjem FC attempted to equalize the lone goal but failed till the last whistle. SSS Yellow was the stronger players and won the match 1-0. The third place winner won a cash prize of forty thousand while the fourth place winner won twenty thousand. The cash award and certificates were given away by the Match Patron, Kelhouneizo Yhome, President, NDPP Youth Organization, Central, Nagaland.
Meanwhile, in an exhibition match played earlier in the afternoon between DC&SP XI and Mokokchung Press Club, DC & SP XI, won the match 3-2. The three goals for DC & SP XI were scored by Habemo (2 goals) and Yarlemba, while the two goals for MPC XI was scored by Sanen Imsong and Tzuwasanen Jamir.
The final match of the MDFA Trophy will be played between Zonipang SA and Intermingle Club on October 27 at Imkongmeren sports complex from 1:00 pm onwards.
