WOKHA, MARCH 31 (MExN): The Medical Department of Wokha conducted a special non-communicable disease (NCD) screening drive on Sunday across multiple churches, including Saint Paul Catholic Church, Ao Baptist Church, Tenyimia Baptist Church, Sumi Baptist Church, Tiyichan Baptist Church, and Samyan Baptist Church.
The screening campaign, initiated under the directive of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, aimed to achieve 100% screening for hypertension and diabetes among individuals aged 30 and above, seeking to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases in the country.
Medical staff under the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), personnel from Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital (DMMDH) Wokha, and Dr. N. Mhonchan Kithan, Medical Superintendent of DMMDH, participated in the initiative. Approximately 600 individuals were screened and treated during the campaign.
Dr. Aseno Rhetso, District Programme Officer (NCD) Wokha, expressed gratitude to the parish priest of Saint Paul Catholic Church Wokha, along with reverends, pastors, women leaders, youth directors, CNY directors, and church officials for their support in facilitating the campaign.
