The Women Entrepreneurs Mokokchung (WEM) hosted the town’s first-ever Craft Bazaar at the MMC Complex on Thursday, bringing together local talent and homegrown businesses in one venue.

The one-day event featured 22 stalls displaying a variety of handmade crafts, ethnic jewelry, indigenous food, and locally produced goods. Initiated by WEM’s three founding members - Dr. Ketinaro Aier, Sentimenla Longkumer, and Chubalemla Kichu - the bazaar was envisioned as a platform to support women entrepreneurs by giving them visibility and opportunities to promote their work.

With 12 officials currently leading WEM, the organization highlighted inclusivity by inviting not only women but also men and blacksmiths to participate, showcasing a diverse range of craftsmanship.

Speaking at the event, Tsukti Longkumer, President of the Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed the importance of customer-friendly service and self-motivation in entrepreneurship. He encouraged local entrepreneurs to embrace challenges, remain dedicated to their passions, and focus on building sustainable businesses.
