Chümoukedima, April 11 (MExN): The Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN), Ao Union Chümoukedima (AUC) and Sangtam Students’ Union Dimapur (SSUD) have condemned the alleged rape and brutal murder of a 35-year-old woman vegetable vendor from Mhaikam village whose body was discovered near Pimla village under Chümoukedima district on April 7.
The KTCN has urged the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate the alleged rape and murder and book the culprits as per the law of the land. The council also requested the law enforcing authorities to further take corrective measures and ensure the safety of the women folk in all places.
In a press note, the Ao Senso Telongjem Chümoukedima and Ao Lanur Telongjem Chümoukedima stated that they have stood by with the bereaved family and relatives and will continue to extend every possible support till the culprit is nabbed by the law enforcing authority. It also stated that Ao Senso Telongjem, Watsu Telongjem Chümoukedima and Ao Lanur Telongjem Chümoukedima having full faith with the Nagaland Police, endorse their support and request for an early capture of the culprit/culprits who have committed the unlawful activities and further to deliver a just punishment.
The Sangtam Students’ Union Dimapur (SSUD) also condemned the brutal act of killing another human without showing a slightest form of humanity. Such act always creates panic and spread fear among the people. Therefore, the union demanded swift and impartial investigation on this case and serve befitting punishment to the culprit.
