More reaffirms support for GPRN/NSCN (U) leadership

DIMAPUR, APRIL 5 (MExN): Following the recent developments at the Naga Unification Camp in Khehoi on March 22, the nine commands and units of the Naga Army, under the GPRN/NSCN (U), convened to deliberate on the situation and reaffirmed their unwavering support for the leadership of President, Gen (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh. 

The decision to stand firm with the leadership was made in the interest of pursuing the Naga people’s aspirations, which the group remains committed to achieving, a press release issued by MIP, GPRN/NSCN (Unification) stated on Saturday. 

In a joint statement issued after the meeting, the nine commands and units of Tobu, Longleng, Aboi, Mon, Naginimora, Tizit, Tuensang, Athibung and Zeliangrong collectively pledged their resolve to support the leadership of the GPRN/NSCN (U) for as long as it takes to fulfill the Naga people's longstanding aspirations. 

A separate MIP press release stated that the regional authority consisting of four more regions namely, Chang, Khiamniungan, Nothern Sumi and Union Territory (UT-1) “reaffirmed their unflinching support for the GPRN/NSCN (U) led by the president, Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato kilonser, Alezo Venuh till the Naga peoples’ aspiration is achieved.”
