Mount Olive College celebrates 34th annual freshers’ & graduation event

The Mount Olive College, Kohima hosted its 34th Freshers’ Social cum Graduation Ceremony 2026 at the College Auditorium on August 14.

Organised by Mount Olive College Students’ Council and Mount Olive College Alumni Association, the programme brought together graduating students, freshers, faculty, alumni and the college community.

Prof N Venuh, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema graced the occasion as guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, he urged upon the students to be serious, sincere and responsible. He encouraged graduating students to remain confident, recognise their potential and stay humble, while advising freshers to pursue education with purpose beyond marks and degrees.

Lovitoli Zhimo, Vice-Principal, Mount Olive College and Hipkha A Sumi, General Secretary, MOC Students’ Council shared greetings.

Alumnus and reigning NWA Naga wrestling champion  Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü, delivered the commencement address while K Shiwoto Wotsa, Chairman and Managing Director of the Governing Body, Mount Olive College, delivered the congratulatory note.

A total of 38 students graduated and 101 freshers were welcomed to the college. Academic and overall excellence certificates, along with incentives, were presented to outstanding students.

Neikehenuo Pielie, who secured 4th Rank in Sociology, NU-FYUGP, was named Mount Olivian Batch Topper 2026, while Thujochilu Venuh was awarded Mount Olivian Student of the Year 2026.

Certificates were also presented to toppers of Sütsa Academy and the MOCK Diploma Batch 2025.

The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Koseno, Principal, Mount Olive College, followed by blessings from Lujeka Assumi, Associate Pastor (Youth), SBCK.

Niboli Achumi and Imnaonen Imchen were adjudged as Miss Fresher and Mr Fresher, respectively.
